Schools and Youth Services

Accepting you need support is a daunting task and we are here to support and guide you to where you want to be in your life.

Supporting your young people

We want all young people to be fully informed and confident with their sexual health, wellbeing and identity, which is why SASH can support and teach the young people you work with in spaces that they're comfortable and familiar with.

To achieve this we offer:

  • Relationship and sexual health education (RSHE)
  • Key working for young people 14+
  • Sessions for young people living with learning disabilities
  • Professional Training

Relationships and Sexual Health Education

SASH’s Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RHSE) Programme is designed within the government guidelines for young people aged 14+. The topics include:

We can also support you and your students on these topics in a range of different settings such as:

  • Format variety: The team can provide education and health promotion via workshops, drop-ins, stalls and satellite services.
  • Range of locations: We can deliver our RSHE programme in educational settings including schools, colleges and universities, and non-educational settings such as youth clubs, community centres, sheltered housing, youth offending teams and extra curriculum groups.
  • 1-1 support and key working: We can have short-term interventions with young people, designed to be delivered through flexible sessions focusing on a variety of topics around sex and sexual heath.

Key working for young people 14+

Young people can access one to one support with our dedicated Young Person's Community Engagement Lead who can offer key working sessions - short-term intervention, designed to be delivered through flexible sessions focusing on a variety of topics around sex and sexual health.
We can also offer telephone/text/email support, help with booking clinic appointments, chaperoning young people to clinics, and creating plans of action for support.

Sessions for young people with additional needs:

We provide sessions for young people with additional needs as a result of a learning disability or autism. These sessions focus on topics that parents and carers might find challenging to navigate themselves, and aim to empower and inform these young people on their sexual health. We cover topics such as understanding the body, relationships, public and private behaviours, and social media and online safety.

Professional Training

For professionals working within our 3 service areas, we provide Professional Training on how to talk to young people about sex and relationships that fit in line with current government RSHE guidance.

If you'd like to book SASH in for RSHE delivery, Key Working, Learning Disability Sessions or Professional Training, please get in touch.
