Live well with HIV at SASH

People living with HIV can enjoy long, healthy lives.

At SASH, we're here to support you with all aspects of your sexual health and wellbeing, from how you feel about yourself and your body to having healthy relationships and a fulfilling sex life.

Here are a few of the things we support people with:

  • Understanding and being comfortable with your diagnosis
  • Family and partner relationships
  • Telling people about your HIV status
  • Starting a family
  • Faith, culture and community
  • Exercise and healthy eating
  • Meeting other people living with HIV

All of our services are free to residents of Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, and Hammersmith & Fulham.

Family Support

We offer specialist support to families affected by HIV. This could involve supporting you with your benefits and budgeting, getting to medical appointments, applying for grants, communicating with your child’s school, adopting a healthy lifestyle and so much more.

Counselling

Counselling is a form of ‘talking therapy’ where you can discuss your thoughts, feelings and any life issues in a safe, confidential and non- judgemental environment. Generally people have counselling when they want to change something in their lives, or explore thoughts and feelings in more depth. Counselling can help you become more self-aware and move forward, but also process what might be going on for you in the past and presently.

Coaching

Sometimes you can have a plan but don’t know where to begin or how to stay motivated. A coach will be there for one-to-one sessions to support you to achieve your goals. They will give you encouragement, guidance and feedback without judgement.

Meeting other people living with HIV

SASH runs a programme for gay and bisexual men and non-binary people who are living with HIV to meet and support one another. Peer mentors are trained volunteers who are living with HIV themselves. They offer non-judgemental, tailored support giving workshops, attending socials and talking one-to-one with people about their experiences.
